Product description:

This is a very versatile support frame that you definitely need – at one place or another where plants require support.

Robinia wood, from which the support frame is made, is by far the most durable and strongest native wood - see Properties of Robinia Wood. It lasts many years without chemical treatment. It is only treated with pure linseed oil, which further increases its longevity.

The support frame set consists of appealing, yet very robust octagonal Robinia wood rods with a thickness of 3 cm, elastic wood cord, a hard rubber striking head, and Robinia wood dowels, with which rods can be bundled if necessary.

The length of the included wood cord – color green, Ø 3 mm – is eight times the chosen rod length, which is sufficient for all intended uses.

The special feature of the support frame rods is the holes spaced 8 cm apart, alternately oriented in one direction or the other (crosswise). The hole diameter of 7 mm allows for the hollow cord and even thicker cord to be easily passed through.

With their tips, the support frame rods can be easily driven into the ground, and the tips retain their shape because Robinia wood is so hard. The hard rubber striking head prevents the wood from splitting, even with vigorous strikes.

The holes in the support frame rods make them particularly suitable for tying plants. The elastic, soft hollow cord is ideal for this purpose. Guided through the appropriate holes, the cord does not slip off and stays exactly where you want it.

If you set up the support frame rods in a row and pull the cord horizontally through the holes, you create a trellis.

If you drive the support frame rods into a square, the cords form a supportive enclosure for perennials, as well as shrubs.

The slender support frame rods can withstand considerable forces, as Robinia wood is also the most resistant to bending. If the rods are laterally loaded so heavily that the ground resistance is insufficient, you can increase it by bundling two or even three rods together (see pictures of the trellis with roses and passion flowers). Simply connect the rods using the included Robinia wood dowels and then screw in screws that fit the ends of the dowels, which slightly spread the dowel ends.
